Butterflies symbolize metamorphosis, renewing, rebirth and in other terms, purification and cleansing. In this series, the butterfly resembles reincarnation, a perspective into the afterlife. I have tried to introspectively contemplate on the idea of the self and explore old photographs in search of my real identity so as to understand how my present life has been shaped by the life of the ones who came before me. In other words, it is as if I have tried to find a lost one in my previous incarnations. Moreover, reincarnation can be thought of as multiple opportunities for humans to live in this world.
